Arun Overall Business of the Year Award 2009 26/10/2009
The Team at dizzy would like to thank all our supporters who voted for them in the Arun Business Awards on 22nd October. Your continued support enabled us to retain the Disability Awareness Award for a second year and also add the Promotion and Marketing award as well as the Overal Business of the year Award. We would like to thank all our staff and volunteers who made this possible with there dedication and hard work.
 
 
 
Business Marketing and Promotion Award 26/10/2009

dizzy can now proudly boast to be award winners. The Business Marketing and Promotion Award was accepted on behalf of everybody involved with dizzy by co-founders Jools and Jane Chaffer.

dizzy can now proudly boast to be awarded Disability Awareness Award Winner for a second year. The award was accepted on behalf of everybody involved with dizzy by co-founders Jools and Jane Chaffer.

Diabetes Centre : receive new opthalmoscopes (Feb 2009) 28/08/2009

We are very pleased to provide St Richards Diabetes Centre with two ophthalmoscopes. Melanie Teasdale from St Richards Hospital quotes "The ophthalmoscopes have indeed been very useful and thank you dizzy for kindly providing them. Patients began benefiting from them the very day they were installed. It seems the small things make the biggest contribution to patient experience ".

These were provided and installed at a cost of £1200

 
 
 
new dizzy store : Littlehampton Town Centre (29/11/08) 28/08/2009

We are very proud to launch our 4th store. dizzy : Littlehampton was opened by Littlehampton Town Mayor : Cllr Alan Gammon.

Everybody worked incredibly hard to turn around this very run down and unloved retail unit into another stunning dizzy store. Again with a very small budget of just over £2,800 the store was fully kitted out from carpets to new lighting, signage, display fixtures and fittings, through to a new kitchen unit/ sink in the stockroom. This has been fully funded from re-investment by dizzy in our aim of bringing diabetes to the 'High Street' and educating !!

This store is our 1st town location and we hope many people will take advantage of the free literature / leaflets available in all our stores.

Diabetes UK : Children and Family care events (Nov 2008) 28/08/2009

We are again very pleased to assist Diabetes UK with their fantastic educational events.

A £250 donation has been received by DUK with thanks.

Paediatric Diabetes HbA1c assistance - St Richards (19/09/08) 28/08/2009

dizzy has agreed to assist the paediatric diabetes department, as the fantastic HbA1c machine has lost its funding source to provide the cartridges. An initial donation to assist 50 children has been provided and we are sure this will be greatly appreciated by children and their parents alike...

These were provided at a cost of £375

 
 
 
Food Plate models to assist St Richards patients (04/09/08) 28/08/2009

St Richards diabetes dietitian's have been assisted in their role of educating newly diagnosed diabetics. Karen Prinsloo (Diabetes Dietitian) quotes "these models will be a very valuable resource in our diabetes education programme".

These were provided at a cost of £110

 
 
 
new dizzy store : Angmering Village (31/05/08) 28/08/2009

We are very proud to launch our 3rd store. dizzy : Angmering Village was opened by Jane Chaffer. The day was a great success.

As always we are extremely grateful of everybody's support, both the general public and local businesses. Amazingly this beautiful store was opened with a budget of just over £2,000. This has been fully funded from re-investment by dizzy.

dizzy hope the new Branch Manager and her team enjoy their roles and follow our aim of increasing awareness of diabetes in the immediate area.

 
 
 
new 40" Sony LCD-TV for the Diabetes Centre: WASH (07/05/08) 28/08/2009

dizzy has provided the diabetes centre at Worthing & Southlands Hospital a fantastic top of the range 40" Sony LCD television. This will be used in the Education/ training room to aid the transfer of information in events & lectures.

This was provided at a cost of £1100 including a five year warranty.
 
 
 
Continual Monitoring Sensors for Diabetes Centre - St Richards (11/03/08) 28/08/2009

dizzy has assisted another 10 'chronic' Type-1 diabetics, by funding glucose sensors for a Continual Monitoring device. This gives vital information as to what blood sugar levels are doing on an continual basis.
